Gravetye Estate, home to naturalistic gardener William Robinson 1885-1935, is an enchanting place to walk all year round.
The Charity offers free parking and access to over 600 acres of undulating woods and farmland via a network of well-marked trails. The shortest trail – 2.5 kms – starts from the public parking layby before the hotel entrance gates and is a wonderful circular walk including views of Lower Lake. Please follow our simple code of conduct, keeping dogs under close control at all times, for the protection of livestock and wildlife.
Our main car park can be found on Vowels Lane and has ample parking for 20 cars.

Often referred to as the ‘Father of Modern Gardening’, William Robinson is renowned for his ‘wild’ and ‘natural’ gardening methods. He was ahead of his time in his beliefs that sustainability and biodiversity were paramount.
