This lovely avenue of beech trees was planted in 1894 by William Robinson, pioneering wild gardener.

We intend to retain these trees into the future, although beech is shallow rooted and has a big crown so can be damaged by the more extreme weather patterns that are part of climate change; we may need to divert our trail if they become dangerous in old age.
