The old Sussex barn on Gravetye Estate is now home to a beguiling young female barn owl.
Back in June we had a pair of owls (a young male and slightly older female) and it was hoped that these would breed. Alas, they seem to have moved on.
Sadly, many barn owls perish due to starvation early in their lives so we hope that our new resident will not only find plenty to eat but will find a mate too!
All three owls have been tagged and we hope to catch sight of them soon.
Martin Rann from The Sussex Barn Owl Group has been monitoring our boxes for us.
